WALKING
Key West is only 2 miles by 4 miles. If you stay in the historic district, it is easy to get around on foot. Pick up a copy of Sharon Well’s Walking Guide and enjoy a leisurely stroll while learning about the island.
BICYCLE
Bicycling is a popular way to get around Key West. Some residents do not even own a car. There are numerous bicycle rental companies throughout Key West. You can even have them delivered to your hotel.
SCOOTER
Travel the island and get a tan at the same time! 1 and 2 seater scooters are available for rent at numerous locations.
ELECTRIC CAR
These are street legal golf carts. You can rent 2, 4 or 6 seaters. There are even custom carts that look like ’57 Chevy’s, Hummers, roadsters and more.
Most companies offer free pick up and drop off at your hotel. Cruise Key West in open air comfort.
BY CAR
Parking is available in the historic district either on the street or in parking lots/garages. Street parking close to Duval Street is metered so you’ll need change. You may find non-metered parking in other areas. Just be sure it doesn’t say “residential parking” on the space or you may be issued a parking ticket. Key West is a small island and the streets can be a bit crowded.
OLD TOWN TROLLEY
The Old Town Trolley offers narrated tours of Key West. It makes designated stops, allowing you to disembark and do some sightseeing. You then re-board and continue the tour at your leisure. These tours are a great way to see the town and learn some Key West history.
BONE ISLAND SHUTTLE
A great way to get around Key West. The comfortable air-conditioned shuttle makes a loop around the island until 11:00PM. It makes several stops at the major hotels and tourist attractions.
TAXI
Taxis are readily available throughout the island. You can either call to arrange pick up or hail one if you are in the historic area.
